- Tidig cell i granulopoiesen; stor cell (15–20 µm) med stor kärna, nukleoler och basofil cytoplasma utan granula.  
- Differentieras till [[Promyelocyt|promyelocyt]].  
- Delar sig i benmärgens proliferationspool.
